Since 1989, co-founders John Potocnik and Carol Mandigo have toured their Catskill Puppet Theater throughout the US and Canada. They take great pride in carrying on the tradition of the old traveling puppet troupes.

Technical Requirements

Artists needs 90 minutes for performance set up and 45 minutes to strike; performance space needs to be at least 20'x16'x12'x12'.

Hiawatha
Full sets and handcrafted puppets are accompanied by Native American flue and drum in a play based on the life of the great Iroquois hero Hiawatha. (K-6)

Sister Rain and Brother Sun
Early Childhood: This musical nature tale performance features colorful sets and costumes, large, animated rod puppets with finely chiseled features. When Sister Rain becomes jealous of Brother Sun and stops watering the earth, Mother Nature and the audience must join forces to save the day. (PreK-2)

The Willow Girl
When a young Chinese girl immigrates to the American frontier, she finds herself facing discrimination amongst a myriad of other immigrants and cultures. (K-6)

The Lion's Whiskers
Original songs, masks, shadows and other puppets, life-sized to gigantic, are used to tell this traditional Ethiopian folktale. (K-6)
