Percussionist Tony Padilla was born and raised in Rochester New York coming from a family of ten. As a self-taught percussionist, he began playing at age 12 and has been performing professionally since the age of 14. Tony has performed with such artists as Paquito De Rivera, Steve Gadd, Peter Erskine, Wilfred Reyes Sr, Randy Brecker, Arturo Sandoval, Jerry Gonzalez, Lou Gramm, Russel Thompkins Jr., Kathy Sledge - of Sister Sledge Band, Reginald Torian Sr. Tom Toyama and The Maelstrom Percussion Ensemble. Tony currently works with the Latin Jazz Group The Mambo Kings who have shared the stage with Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Florida Symphony, Cleveland Symphony and many more. Tony has done extensive studio recordings for bands such as The Bill Welch Band, Primetime Funk, Bob Sneider, The Bill Tiberio Band along with other artist. Since 1983, Tony has been conducting clinics/workshops throughout United States, including The Eastman School Of Music, The New York State Teachers Music Association, The Percussive Arts Society, and a variety of colleges, high schools throughout the states. Tony's versatility to perform many styles of music leads him to be a percussionist in high demand.
